As a wedding day gift, Amitabh Bachan and wife jaya could not have given son Abhishek and to be bahu Aishwarya Rai anything better than an item number at their sangeet last night . But that is what the proud parents of the groom did , effectly making the participation of other stars in the sangeet ceremony incidental . the bachans danced in the half-hour sangeet ceremony at prateeksha. and according to the buzz neither Hrithik roshan nor shahrukh khan danced for the occasion. the groom’s sister shweta was also apart of the dancing . “everyone from Amitabh to shweta’s son Agastaya danced in the sangeet. And the best part was that the Bachans selected every top actor’s song right from SRK,Salman and AmirKhan,to Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan for their number.they all practiced till 2 am everyday for yesterday,”revealed source. the sangeet began with a soft Indian dance performance and as the momentum built up,it went from dhin-chak to hot modern numbers.”Big B and jaya did some cool moves,” says the source. there ere about 11 songs in this programme. Aidhwarya and her family member also put up a performance ,” informs the source. the sangeet was bigger than the shaadi in the Bachan family . if the source is to be believed, Amar Singh,Anil and Tina Ambani also did some last minutes freestyle dancing with the Bachans.There was also puja which was attended by their family and friends,which reporedly included Rishi and Neetu Kapoor.

After shooting round-the-clock for Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodha-Akbar, flying back each evening to rehearse for the Filmfare awards and shooting for an ad in Singapore, Hrithik is down with a severe attack of viral fever.

“I’m totally bed-ridden,” he said from his home on Wednesday. “I’ve been working round-the-clock, flying in from Karjat to rehearse. Then I also took off for Singapore. All the time I had high fever and was keeping it down with paracetemol tablets. Today is the first time when I’m resting. Post-Saif all of us really need to take of ourselves,” whispers Hrithik softly.

Lately Hrithik has allowed himself to be self-indulgent with his food habits. “I was so much into being well-toned for Dhoom 2, I decided to give my body a holiday. I splurged for a while. But then I needed to get back into shape. Therefore after shooting, rehearsing for my Filmfare performance , I was also going to the gym daily. On top of all this, Ashutosh Gowariker hadn’t warned me that we’d be doing sword-fighting sequences during the last twenty days when I was in and out of Mumbai and Karjat. All this has taken its toll. I’m completely exhausted and burning with a fever.”

He brightens up while speaking about his role as Akbar. “I’ve enjoyed playing everyone from Rohit in Koi…Mil Gaya to Aryan in Dhoom 2. But playing Akbar is a different challenge requiring a lot of researched attention.”

The Urdu professor called on location to check the accent is happy. “He hasn’t been complaining. So I guess I’m doing it right,” says Hrithik who is in no mood to sign another film yet. “At the moment I think a break is seriously needed after Jodha-Akbar. We must learn to listen to warning signals from the body.”

Robert Beaglehole has suggested that India could formulate a legislation that would ban filmstars and sports personalities from endorsing tobacco products. Such legislation exist in New Australia, Zealand and Canada and have helped curtail incidence of chronic diseases tremendously.

Beaglehole said India should first try to reach a voluntary consensus with the stars. Urging actor Shah Rukh Khan to stop onscreen promotion of tobacco, tobacco was the prime culprit behind India’s tremendous burden of chronic diseases, said by Beaglehole, who is WHO’s director of chronic diseases and health promotion.

Six million people who die every year of cancer,stokes,heart attacks, diabertes.Beaglehole said “Chronic diseases are killing Indians in their prime. The deaths due to chronic diseases here are twice as high as in the US and Canada, which were once as affected. Because such chronic disease take shape in young people who worship public figures like filmstars and sports stars, those like Shah Rukh Khan and Michael Schumacher must be more careful of their actions. Icons should encourage healthy living.”

Bollywood’s cute girl Katrina is set to Perform with is boyfriend Salman Khan on Dec7 at Global Films Awards in Kuala Lumpur.There will be mega performances by Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Shah Rukh khan and Ameesha Patel.

Amitabh Bachchen is countdown to the (IIFA) international Indian Film Awards which will held in yokshire city next year.In Millennium IIFA was held in Britain ,Yokshire city then once again in 2007, IIFA hosting this event on june 2007 in Yorkshire city,York and Hull.
