A graduated student Rajesh Dalal alias Raj alias Lucky (28) who is form southwest Delhi’s Nangloi had planned to kill Sherawat since she had defamed the Jat community.Accused Dalal had escaped from police custody in the Tis Hazari court complex where he was being produced for trial.

Dalal had claimed in front of journalists that he was planning to kill Sherawat since she had defamed the Jat community. The police, however, rubbished his claim and called it a publicity stunt. They maintained that Dalal’s movements and activities indicate nothing to this effect. “Dalal is an educated, modern-day criminal. He has several cases registered against him, including escape from custody, armed robbery, kidnapping, attempt to murder, assault on policemen and criminal intimidation,’’ said Neeraj Thakur, Delhi DCP.

He had indulged in criminal activities in 1999, when he kidnapped his estranged wife. The woman was rescued later. Dalal then kidnapped her brother and sought a huge ransom in an attempt to seek vengeance. The boy was rescued and Rajesh was arrested for the first time. He was sentenced to life imprisonment. In 2005, when he was out on Bail, he robbed Rs9 lakh form a petrol pump manger at Allahabad Bank.There are so many cases on thim.
